5 Tips For Scaling Your Life, & Business

So you’re on a growth journey that involves change and most likely you want to become an expert at something.

On both fronts, growth/expert, here’s some pointers i’ve embraced on my own journey that will undoubtedly help you on yours:

You do you

👉 Stop comparing yourself to others. Stop following and bolstering your hero’s egos online. Doing so, consciously or subconsciously, positions you as inferior or subordinate. Plus, many report that after meeting with their heroes, 9/10 are assholes.

Find a guide

👉 Every hero needs a guide, mentor/advisor (ref. Dennis Miller’s StoryBrand). Although growth as an individual and or leader is a solitary thing, having a mentor that has ‘done it’, whatever “it” is, is key to establishing the right goals and navigating the path to reach those goals.

Don’t work hard, work different

👉 You should be experimenting with various tactics within your plan and have a success rate between 50% — 80%. Lower than that, needs better planning. Higher than that, it’s too easy and not helping you grow.

More doing, less of the other stuff

👉 In Lean, it’s Think, Plan, Act, Learn. In today’s fast paced (and fiercely competitive) world, it’s more like, Focus, Feedback, Fix it

Don’t move forward without a strategy or plan. But don’t get lost in it. Many times that means facing fear (and leaving your comfort zone)

Learn from the past

👉 Your journey is about growth. Growth is fear-facing and learning new things. What is better than studying the past to de-risk the future?
